American Persimmon (DiospyrosVirginiana)

American persimmon is a woody, deciduous tree in the Ebenaceae (ebony) family. It is native to the central and eastern United States and can reach 30 to 80 feet high and 20 to 35 feet wide.  Produces a medium sized fruit that ripens in late fall.  Suitable for food plot planting as it bears fruit during the hunting season and holds fruit into winter.  Often called the "Deer Magnet" in the south!  Requires a male/female tree to produce abundant fruit, recommend planting 4 or more for best productivity.
