Overcup Oak (Quercus lyrata)

A medium sized oak in the White Oak family that grows an irregular crown up to 80ft at maturity.  Produces large acorns that are almost completely covered by its cap, they drop in September/October.  Overcup oaks tolerate wet soil and are found in bottomlands and stream banks in USDA zones 5-9.
